The Maryland Department of Aging supports health promotion throughout the state through funding and monitoring of a variety of health promotion and disease prevention services including evidence-based Health Promotion workshops and programs, screenings, physical activity, health education, medication management, and other services.
The Maryland Department of Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, and the Maryland Living Well Center of Excellence offer a number of evidence-based programs throughout the state, which have been documented through robust research to produce improved health outcomes including:
Health promotion programming is offered through Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and associated senior centers throughout Maryland.
Contact your local AAA, Maryland Access Point (MAP) office or Community Senior Center to learn more and access services to improve or maintain your health and manage chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis.
