State Plan on Aging

The Maryland Department of Aging has received notification from the U.S. Administration for Community Living that the request for a waiver of the state plan duration limit was approved.  This approval means that the current 2016-2020 Maryland State Plan has been extended one-year and will remain in effect until September 30, 2021.  The extension will allow the Department to continue to focus attention on its response to the pandemic and to develop a state plan informed by the affect the pandemic has had on Maryland's older adults and the delivery of services.

A new state plan will be developed and submitted for federal approval in 2021.  To that end, we will invite the public to review and comment on this draft before it is finalized.  Look for the public comment period to be announced soon.
