Medicare Open Enrollment: October 15 - December 7
Medicare Open Enrollment starts on October 15th and runs through December 7th. State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counselors are available to provide free, unbiased assistance as you compare your current plans with new options.
Open Enrollment is your time to review your Medicare health and drug coverage and decide if you want to make changes. Because Medicare costs and benefits can change each year, comparing your options could help you find better coverage or save money.
Medicare can be confusing, so don't hesitate to reach out to a trained SHIP counselor in your area for help or guidance.
Need Help with Medicare?
SHIP is your local State Health Insurance Assistance program. We provide free, unbiased help to Medicare-eligible beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers. Whether you are new to Medicare, reviewing Medicare plan options, or have questions about how to use your Medicare, SHIP can help. Trained staff and volunteer counselors are available in all 23 counties and Baltimore City for one-on-one assistance and community education.

Become a SHIP Volunteer
SHIP counselors are members of your local community who have been screened, trained, and
certified as Medicare experts. Many are volunteers and they may even be one of your peers. They pride themselves on providing unbiased, confidential counseling. Their only priority is helping you make informed decisions about your care and benefits. Learn more about the
